Peter Molloy (Flute / Whistles)
Peter Molloy is a renowned flute player from County Mayo, Ireland, carrying forward the rich North Connacht flute tradition. He learned his craft from his father, Matt Molloy, a legendary figure in Irish traditional music and a member of The Chieftains, whose own style was shaped by the great exponents of the region’s music. The Molloy family pub in Westport, 'Matt Molloy's', has become a celebrated venue for traditional music sessions, attracting musicians from Mayo and far beyond. Peter has performed with many distinguished artists and groups, including Lúnasa and The Chieftains, and is known for his deep respect for the tradition as well as his innovative collaborations.
Declan Askin (Guitar / Vocals)
Born in Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal, and based in Westport, Co. Mayo since 1993, Declan is a multi-talented musician, singer, guitarist, and composer. He is a founding member of the acclaimed Mayo groups Céide and Coda, has written and produced songs for film and TV, and created a highly acclaimed musical theatre show on the life of St.Patrick. He is a regular at traditional sessions in Matt Molloy’s pub, collaborating with local and visiting musicians and his passion for music and education has made him an important figure in Mayo’s cultural life.
Sean Regan (Fiddle / Bouzouki / Vocals)
Sean Regan is one of Ireland’s most sought-after fiddle players, celebrated for his versatility and distinctive, sensitive style. With a career spanning over thirty years, Sean has performed and recorded with a host of top Irish and international acts, including eight years as fiddler with the Sharon Shannon Band and as a regular member of Damien Dempsey’s band, supporting Bruce Springsteen on the Wrecking Ball Tour in 201335. His session and studio work is highly regarded, and he has contributed to recordings for artists such as Sinead O’Connor, Finbar Furey, Paul Brady, and The High Kings. Sean’s unique sound bridges traditional Irish music and contemporary genres, making him a dynamic presence on stage and in the studio.
